Andrew is an IT service manager. Andrew and his IT service team are responsible for the maintenance of CIs such as software upgrade, maintenance of existing software, servers, routers and so on. These CIs are strategic components of an organization's business, it is essential to monitor the health of the applications and business services and its underlying CIs.
The main goal of Andrew is to analyze if infrastructure-related CIs and associated open tasks for child CIs have an impact on the business services and applications. For example, an older version of an Oracle database software, the age of the CI or other factors might affect the performance of an application. Also, the open and pending tasks of a CI might affect the performance.
Through the iCubes or dossiers, Andrew can get insights into the number of underlying CIs associated with a business service, such as servers, databases and their age buckets, OS versions, count of affecting tasks, Incident backlog, and so on. Also, Andrew can see what are the Incident backlogs and open tasks for the child CIs greater than 30 days which might impact the performance.
Following are some examples of areas that contribute to an understanding of overall health of applications and business services:
To analyze the overall health of applications and business services and its underlying CIs, perform the following procedures:
Prerequisite: Ensure that you have logged into Digital.ai Intelligence Applications using appropriate credentials.
In this example, a bar chart is used. For more information about dossiers, refer Dossiers
In this example, ITSA_CI_downstream_Relationship, CI_Details, and Affected_CI are selected. The selected datasets are added to the DATASETS panel.
Here's an example report that displays the affecting task count for child CIs and its impact on applications and business services.
Using the report, Andrew can get visibility in to the overall health of an application or business service based on backlog tasks on its underlying child CIs its CI Class and Age bucket:
