Release Multi Level Dependency

The Release Multi Level Dependency iCube enables you to create ad hoc reports to analyze Release, Phase, or Task involving direct and indirect dependencies via a Gate task that is associated with a Release. A Gate task is a task that defines the dependencies associated with other releases (i.e., a release, phase in a release, or task in a release). The release/phase/task which has been defined as the dependency should be completed for the current release to progress on to other tasks/phases.

For example, consider test4, test5, and test6 to be the three planned releases, of which test4 holds dependency on test5 and test5 holds dependency on test6. This indicate test4 holds direct dependency on test5 and indirect dependency on test6.

Using the Release Multi Level Dependency iCube, Release Managers can gain insights into important business decisions such as:

You can also blend this iCube with other iCubes, such as Release, Release Phase, or Release Task and use the Release, Phase, or Task attributes as filters to analyze and view the corresponding dependency items. You can also view the list of release, phases, or tasks on which a specific release, phase, or task is dependent.

Metrics

Metric Name Description Formula
No of Dependencies Total number of direct and indirect dependencies which include task/ release/ phase dependency type. Max([Total No of Dependencies])
No of Open Dependencies Total number of direct and indirect dependencies which include task/ release/ phase dependency type. Max([Total No of Dependencies]) [Open Dependency]
Time Remaining Till Dependency Closure (Hours) Time duration left until the dependency planned end date (in Hours) NullToZero(([Time Remaining Till Dependency Closure - Multi Dependencies] / 3600))
Time Remaining Till Dependency Commencement (Hours) Time duration left until the dependency planned start date (in Hours) NullToZero(([Time Remaining Till Dependency Commencement - Multi Dependencies] / 3600))
